Payton Harrison
Orchestration Lead, Assistant Conductor

Payton Harrison (b. 2005) is the Orchestration Lead and Assistant Conductor at Press Start. He is a native of Boise Idaho (Quite far from NYC!), and is studying Music Composition at Boise State University. Primarily a trumpet player, Payton has performed with multiple ensembles, including the Boise State University’s own Blue Thunder Marching Band, Symphonic Winds, Jazz and Symphony Orchestras; alongside other non-academic ensembles such as the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra and it’s own Youth Orchestra, Serenata Orchestra and the Brass Band of the Treasure Valley. Payton’s sound concept has been lauded as “brilliant and light” and has performed works such as Oskar Böhme’s Trumpet Concerto. Payton is also a prolific conductor for his age, and has been granted multiple opportunities to conduct some of the aforementioned ensembles. Payton has been praised for his expressive yet clear conducting style and his rich emotional palette. Payton has attended various workshops all across the country to hone his craft and become a better musician and conductor. When he isn’t practicing, studying or arranging, Payton enjoys riding his bicycle along the Boise River Greenbelt while listening to the environments around him. Payton’s favorite video game is Final Fantasy VII.
